Can not start the server after successfull build

Hello everybody,

I got a cvs-snapshot of the maxdb buildtools and the maxdb sources. I compiled
the tools, configured the sources and compiled them without errors under
Solaris9/Sparc.

However I can not start the server afterwards. I always get the following 
errors:

bash-2.05$ x_server start

en950_GetProgramExecPath failed:
OS_ERROR  0: No system errortext for ERRNO 0
RTE_ERROR 1: Entry not in Registry:IndepProgramsIndepPrograms
Failed to get execution path for x_server

and of course, a call to 'dbmcli' also fails:

bash-2.05$ dbmcli db_create VHS VHS,VHS
Error! Connection failed to node (local) for database (no dbname): no
installation found

I completed all the steps found in the different Readme-files:

-added the services to /etc/services:

sql6            7210/tcp                        #SAP DB
sapdbni72       7269/tcp
sql30           7200/tcp

-created a user 'sdb' who is amember of the group 'sdba'

-created the file '/etc/opt/sdb' which has the following entries:

[Globals]
IndepProgramPath=/opt/sdb/programs
IndepDataPath=/var/opt/sdb/data
SdbOwner=sdb
SdbGroup=sdba

-the directories '/opt/sdb/programs' and '/var/opt/sdb/data' exist and are
writable.

What am I missing? What do I have to do in order to start the server and create
a database? I couldn't find any hints in the list until know..
