Since version DBMGUI 7.5.00.11 the dbanalyzer's running state is evaluated by the DBMGUI. If the version of MDAC is smaller than 2.7 the problem occurs. 1. Operating system level Depending on the configuration of the operating system a message box or DrWatson or nothing comes up. If you get a message box the errorcode "C0000005" is displayed and an event is written to the event log. 2. Database Manager level The DBMGUI and dbmcli come up with an error resulting from the internally called command dban_state which says: >dbmcli -d TESTDB -u dbm,dbm dban_state ERR -24964,ERR_EXECUTE: error in program execution -1073741819,dbanalyzer -d TESTDB -u *,* -state (The hexa decimal value "C0000005" corresponds to "-1073741819") The DBAnalyzer itself does not deliver any error message. Just the returncode itself signals an error. So if you call the DBAnalyzer in a console window it seems to work correctly. HOW TO: Check MDAC Version: <http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;301202&FR=1&PA= 1&SD=HSCH> Download MDAC http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?productID=B7ADDC23-DEC1- 4C5F-8479-EAD9245A8D61&freetext=&DisplayLang=de We hope, this will help Elke SAP Labs Berlin > Best regards, > Andris Spruds > > P.S. > Another (minor) problem is that the new server (7_5_00_19) complains about > some missing files if installed with option ALL.
