Yes, exactly! And there should be a non-interactive install to easily roll out installs in all scenarios. Having been an administrator at one point in time, I can tell you that having to manually update files over and over is most annoying and very prone to error. Yes, you can script the changes, but having to do that when it should have been handled by the product installed, is also quite frustrating. Especially when you have a few thousand PCs to update and not all are the same, so you have to be very careful in testing your scripts to be sure you don't break one of the many special cases out on the network. This is why I am always on the lookout for things that can be improved easily during development to make the end user and the network administrator's lives easier. There is always an optimal time to make any change ... identify it and do it!
