Membership, Role and Personalization Providers

Hello Everyone,

 

My name is Ryan Clark.  I'm currently working on a project that requires we use Firebird as our database.  I have been working with Firebird now for several years and .Net since it's inception so this is not a problem.  The architecture I have designed for our solution however is heavily dependent on the new features built into .Net 2.0 (webparts, personalization, membership).  Again this is not a problem because the provider models with .Net will allow me to inherit from the membership, role and personalization base classes to create my own Firebird providers. 

 

Anyway...  In doing some research I have discovered a few communities of people also working to develop out these providers.  What I am having issues with is finding any clear answers to what people have already developed and how much I will need to do from scratch.

 

Could someone provide me with some much needed answers to the following:

 

1. FirebirdSql.Web.Providers.FbMembershipProvider
   How is this implemented?
   Does anyone have any examples?
   
   I'm confused partially because all you typically have to do to extend a .Net provider is to inherit from that provider and write to your own datasource.  Does FbMembershipProvider provide something other than in interface? IE does it run the SQL against your fb database to build the initial required tables and include the DAL code???
   
2. Has anyone built out a Personalization or Role provider the uses Firebird as the datasource?
   
3. Are there any SQL scripts or code examples floating around to use as a starting point?

Thanks in advance to any help in this area.   In the project I am working on this is just a small piece so any information would help.  Also if we have to end up writing our own providers for any or all of these I will gladly post examples and the like.
