This is helpful, as it wasn't clear to me that the "File format" wasn't tightly linked to the "Use system formats" settings. The truly aggravating part is that I have done the clone procedure several times and it makes no difference. A text field containing a dd/mm/yyyy string still does not evaluate (when using GetAsDate) to a valid date. However, it seems if I create a no records clone and re-import all the data, then things begin to look up. Thanks for your help on this.
