Oracle DBA/Unix SA Experience Preferred
The
Oracle DBA will work with a team of development DBA’s, software developers and
Unix System Administrators to provide support for all production databases.
Primary responsibilities will include performance and job execution monitoring,
capacity planning, and integrating databases into other enterprise wide
projects. This will entail defining, monitoring and tuning all back-up restore
operations, setting up test environments, and participating in defining in-house
database standards. The DBA will also be expected to define, practice and lead
recovery activities and participate in on-call rotation for database
environments.
Qualifications:
Five years Oracle DBA experience
with 8i & 9i, PL/SQL, performance monitoring & tuning
preferred
Three years SQL Server DBA experience with 6.5, 7,
2000, T-SQL preferred
Oracle production database support experience
Familiarity with Sun, Microsoft and Linux Operating
Systems
Experience with Oracle RMAN, Commvault Galaxy or
similar 3rd party tools desirable
Familiarity with performance/tuning tools such as
Quest Central, Foglight, Iwatch, Toad, Concord
Experience with clustered Oracle or SQL Server
environments a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information
Systems or Business
Experience in a highly dynamic business environment
with multiple on-going projects
Experience with Microsoft Server and documentation
preferred
Strong inter-personal and communication skills;
capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making
presentations to professional peers, and working closely with upper
management.
Ability to quickly solve problems from
identification to resolution
