Subject: Database is not connected. - msg#00108List: db.dspace.userI have been successful in installing Dspace 4.2 and it is up running now. But i am getting some problems..:( 1) Any other user of the system other than "dspace" is not able to access the Dspace page in browser. It keeps on looking for the page. I have made changes in postgresql.conf file to make postmaster listening to all IP addresses but no success (although it doesn't matter). Please tell me what could be the problem. 2)Even after accessing the Dspace page after logging in as "dspace" i am not able to add any new user or to add any entry. It shows after accepting the data that "The system has experienced an internal error. Please try to do what you were doing again, and if the problem persists, please contact us so we can fix the problem" i.e Internal System Error. I think the database or postmaster is creating some error. I am running postgres (PostgreSQL) 8.2.5 and JDBC2 driver is postgresql-8.2-507.jdbc2.jar is placed in [dspace]/lib directory. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks. -- Sunil Ghai ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. Here's the command I use: dsrun org.dspace.app.itemimport.ItemImport --replace --eperson=orbitee-3s7WtUTddSA@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx --collection=1721.1/123 --source=archive1 --mapfile=archive1.map archive1 is a directory containing another directory named something like 0051. archive1.map then contains a line with that subdirectory and the item handle. 0051 1721.1/37278 If you're replacing several things, there could be several directories under archive1 and then several lines in the map file. I wasn't able to access Dorothea's website to look at her instructions. Christine On Thu, 2008-01-10 at 16:46 +0000, Robin Taylor wrote: > Just had a quick look at the code, can't see an "id" option. This feature worked with no problem on Tuesday, then generates the following error Wednesday morning. I found a reference in Sourceforge in an email from Mika Stenberg 2005-10-12 03:47, but no answer to the problem. The main msg, I believe, is that the system cannot find java/dspace/search/_a.fnm (No such file or directory). Our test site does not have this file...and works fine. Can you help me solve the problem? For example: if I extend the DC schema with a custom metadata, how could I read it using OAI-PMH? A shortcut (not a best practice) to do this was to create 20 admin users and then login using dspace account and remove these users from the administration group. I think you may configure SMTP services in dspace config file and this allows email based user creation. I think the database or postmaster is creating some error.
