[bdbxml] Regular expressions in bdbxml

Hi,
is it possible to use XQuery regular expression functions in bdbxml?
Well, I know, it's possible, but it's too slow, even on indexed values. Is
there some special index type for regular expression or how to use regexp
quickly?
