13th ACM International Symposium on Advances in Geographic Information Systems
(ACMGIS'05)
in cooperation with
ACM Fourteenth Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM 2005)
November 4th and 5th, 2005
Bremen, Germany
**Call for Papers
The 2005 International Symposium of ACM GIS is the thirteenth of a series of
symposia/workshops that began in 1993 with the aim of bringing together
researchers, developers, users, and practitioners carrying out research and
development in novel systems based on geo-spatial data and knowledge, and
fostering interdisciplinary discussions and research in all aspects of
geographic information systems. The symposium will provide a forum for original
research contributions and practical system design, implementation, and
applications of GIS. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the
following:
Computational geometry
Middleware architectures
Data mining
Mobile and distributed computing
Data modeling
Multiple representations
Data quality
Novel and challenging applications
Geosensor networks
Performance evaluation and Geospatial data versioning Benchmarking
Wireless networks
Query processing and optimization
Graphical aspects
Real-time spatio-temporal applications
Image databases
Similarity search
Interoperability and standards
Spatial and spatiotemporal indexing (incl. metadata and ontologies)
Spatial reasoning
Languages for metadata management
Traffic telematics
Large-scale servers
Virtual reality and 3D
Location-based services
Visual query languages
Management of raster and vector data
Web applications
Authors are invited to submit full papers (in English, not exceeding 5000
words) reporting original and unpublished research results on the above and
other related topics. All submitted papers will be refereed for quality,
originality and relevance by the Program Committee. The acceptance/rejection of
the papers will be based on the review results. All questions should be
addressed to the program committee chair.
