[Dbworld] Deadline extended: AVIVDiLib'05 Workshop

************************************ ************************************ AVIVDiLib Deadline extended: - Abstract due: October 10th - Paper due: October 17th ************************************ ************************************ AVIVDiLib Seventh International Workshop of the EU Network of Excellence DELOS on AUDIO-VISUAL CONTENT AND INFORMATION VISUALIZATION IN DIGITAL LIBRARIES (AVIVDiLib'05) http://delos.dis.uniroma1.it/Workshops Cortona, Italy, May 4-6, 2005 IMPORTANT DATES 30 September 2004 Abstract Submission Deadline *** Extended to October 10th *** 7 October 2004 Paper Submission Deadline *** Extended to October 17th *** 6 December 2004 Notification of Acceptance 20 January 2005 Camera Ready Papers Due 4-6 May, 2005 Workshop Audiovisual digital libraries require new solutions for content organization, access and interaction. In particular, user interfaces, querying, browsing and visualization solutions, query languages for multimedia data, metadata extraction, ontologies, efficient data base organizations, are important and critical subjects of investigation. Based on tailorable interaction and visualization models, future interface functionality will include options for selection, filtering, linking, ranking, and recommendation of multimedia documents, for collaboration with peer groups in various contexts, for re-using and re-interpreting information objects in different contexts. All these modes of operation have to be designed taking into account various aspects such as: user type, user characteristics and their needs. Selection of appropriate metadata for the representation of the objects' properties, and suitable data organization and management will support retrieval by content either based on local or global characteristics of the objects. This workshop, promoted by the DELOS Network of Excellence (http://www.delos.info/), aims at providing a forum to present the latest research results, new technology development and new applications in the areas of multimedia content and information visualization in digital libraries. The following non-restrictive list is given to illustrate items of particular interest for this conference: * Interface Design * Visual Filtering * Visual Mining * Metadata extraction * Efficient data base structures * Content based retrieval and browsing * Personalization support * Audio, sound digital libraries * Image, Video, 3D data digital libraries * Multimedia digital libraries * Large Data and High Dimensional Visualization * Visualization in Non-traditional Devices * Universal Accessibility PROGRAM CHAIRS Tiziana Catarci Università di Roma "La Sapienza", Italy catarci-9wG3VXlsZ3nzM4FeTNmR7w@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Stavros Christodoulakis Technical University of Crete, Greece stavros-taE2apzES20Cep0kKqy/Kg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Alberto Del Bimbo Università di Firenze, Italy delbimbo-+E3ThSnRCIhOhR2lhbcafA@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx LOCAL CHAIR Benedetto Benedetti Scuola Normale di Pisa-Consorzio FORMA, Italy b.benedetti-m+R6yLg7JNA@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx PUBLICATION CHAIR Marco Bertini Università di Firenze, Italy bertini-+E3ThSnRCIhOhR2lhbcafA@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx PUBLICITY CHAIR Enrico Bertini Università di Roma "La Sapienza", Italy bertini-9wG3VXlsZ3nzM4FeTNmR7w@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx PROGRAM COMMITTEE Andreas Rauber Technical University of Vienna, Austria Annelise Mark Pejtersen, Risoe National Laboratory, Denmark Bill Grosky, Univ.
