[Dbworld] student travel grants for DMSN'04 (deadline: Aug 19th): msg#00058db.dbworld
Hello. Thanks to a donation from Intel, we are able to offer a limited number of travel grants for students who wish to attend the VLDB Workshop on Data Management for Sensor Networks (DMSN'04). The workshop will be held in conjunction with VLDB on August 30, 2004, in Toronto, Canada. For more details on the workshop, please visit http://db.cs.pitt.edu/dmsn04 We will be able to give CAN $600 (about $450 US) to each student, which should cover registration, a one-night hotel stay (or two, depending on the hotel), and some misc. expenses. If you are already registered for DMSN'04 you are still encouraged to apply. Unfortunately, we have a very tight schedule, so the deadline for applications is Thursday, August 19. We expect to announce decisions by August 22nd. Interested students should send by email the following material to dmsn04+grant-2GaC0cPW8CGVc3sceRu5cw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx : 1) Name 2) Email address 3) Current university and department 4) Year in the program (e.g., 2nd year PhD student) 5) A short paragraph (less than 200 words) explaining your research interests and why you would benefit from attending DMSN'04. 6) A link to a personal web page that has additional information (e.g., a list of publications). The link may be a direct link to a PDF file that has your CV, if you do not have a web page. Please make sure to send the above material as soon as possible, to dmsn04+grant-2GaC0cPW8CGVc3sceRu5cw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Best regards, Alex Labrinidis and Sam Madden _______________________________________________ Please do not post msgs that are not relevant to the database community at large.
