As a result of funding under the IST Priority of the European Commission's 6th

international R&D projects. The projects aim at applying information access and
retrieval technologies to novel environments. In particular: DILIGENT is
concerned with integrating Grid and Digital Libraries technologies; PENG aims
at defining a flexible, personalised and context-aware system for the
gathering, filtering and presentation of multimedia news for news
professionals; REVEAL-THIS aims at developing content programming technology
able to capture, semantically index, categorise and cross-link multi-platform,
multimedia and multilingual digital content.

Candidates should have a strong scientific background, ideally in computer
science, with experience in research and development with Windows and Linux
platforms. Background knowledge and experience in either information retrieval,
digital libraries, statistical natural language processing, or relevant related
areas is requested. Ideally, candidates should have, or be about to obtain, a
PhD in a relevant area.
