Post. Doc. Position in
Middleware Platforms for Mobile Computing

Applications are invited for a research position at
postdoctoral, alternatively at senior research scientist
level, at Simula Reserach laboratory, Oslo, Norway,
in the Networks and Distributed Systems group. More
information about the group is available at
http://www.simula.no.

The position is for two years with possibilities for
extension. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in computer
science or a related discipline, and have a strong
background in distributed systems. In particular we
are looking for candidates with experience in component
middleware platforms and mobile computing.

The position will be connected to the involvement of the
Network and Distributed Systems group in the EU project
MADAM. Project MADAM aims to develop modelling language
extensions, tools and middleware that are required by
software engineers to develop innovative mobile-based
applications. Our main task in the project is to develop
a component-based reflective middleware platform that
supports application needs for context-aware adaptation and
reconfiguration.

The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to
the management of the research project (administrative tasks).

Applications including a curriculum vitae, and names
and addresses of three referees, should be sent to the
address below. To speed up processing, applicants
themselves may request their referees to send recommendation
letters.

Application deadline is August 9, 2004.
