[Dbworld] Last Call for Papers: COMAD 2005, January 6-8, 2005, Goa, India: msg#00060db.dbworld
************ Deadline approaching -- only one week left ****************** ************************************************************************** LAST CALL FOR PAPERS - COMAD 2005 11th International Conference on Management of Data (COMAD) January 6-8, 2005, Goa, India http://comad2005.persistent.co.in For over a decade, the COMAD Intl. Conf. on Management of Data, modeled along the lines of ACM SIGMOD, has been the premier database conference hosted in India. It was held on a close-to-annual basis until December 2000, after which various national and international database events, including ICDE in March 2003, have been hosted in India. We are now reviving the COMAD series with COMAD 2005, which will be held at the International Centre, Goa, India (http://www.internationalcentregoa.com), from January 6-8, 2005. Goa is among the foremost tourist destinations in India, attracting an international clientele, due to its wonderful natural environment, including a variety of exquisite beaches, and a unique Indo-Portugese cultural flavor. COMAD 2005 will focus on new developments in the principles and practices related to data management. The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, developers and users to present and discuss emerging trends, concepts, techniques, technologies and experiences in data management. We solicit original research papers on the theory, specification, design, and implementation of data and information management systems. We also encourage case studies and experiences in the design and implementation of such systems. We invite industrial papers, as well as proposals for tutorials and panels. The submission instructions are available at the conference web-site. To ensure wide visibility of material published at the conference, we plan to make arrangements with ACM SIGMOD for including the proceedings of the conference in the SIGMOD on-line and CD-ROM archives. Two awards, for Best Paper and Best Student Paper, will be presented at the conference. ************************************************************************** IMPORTANT DATES Research and Industrial Papers: July 17, 2004 : 9 PM PST (extended from the earlier July 10, 2004) Panel and Tutorial Proposals: July 17, 2004 : 9 PM PST Notification to authors: September 10, 2004 Camera-ready copy due: October 10 2004 Conference: January 6-8, 2005 ************************************************************************** Conference Committee: General Chair: Krithi Ramamritham (IIT Bombay, India) Organizational Chair: Anand Deshpande (PSPL Pune, India) Program Committee Chair: Jayant Haritsa (IISc Bangalore, India) Industrial Program Chair: V.
