Subject: special session at KES2004

Please circulate to those who might be interested.

***************************************************

Cybernetic Department, Bradford University in conjunction with the European
Grid of Solar Observations project are organising the session
'Intelligent Feature Recognition & Classification on Astrophysical Images'
at KES04, 8th Annual meeting on Knowledge based Intelligent Information
and Engineering Systems to be held on 20-24th September 2004 at the
University of Wellington, New Zeeland ( see for details
http://www.cyber.brad.ac.uk/egso/KES2004/KES2004.html).

We invite the papers in the field of pattern recognition and classification
in complex astrophysical and medical images and spectra. In particular, we
encourage to apply those who uses new automated approaches to astrophysical
and medical image processing with robust and efficient pattern recognition
techniques or their application for classification of detected features.
This includes the techniques for image preparation, detection of a
representative range of features using region based methods, the artificial
neural networks, Bayesian methods and wavelet transforms on both medical and
astrophysical images.

The draft paper submission deadline is 15th March. The papers will be
refereed by 2 reviewers and acceptence notified by the 1st April. The final
paper version is to be submitted by 15 April for Proceedings to be
published by Springer-Verlag in Lecture Notes.
