CALL FOR PARTICIPATIONS MIT Information Quality Certificate Program Information Quality I: Principles and Foundations, June 7-11, 2004 The 5-day intensive course on information quality will equip participants with foundational information quality (IQ) knowledge, seen from a continuous improvement approach, IQ-related technical knowledge, and essential concepts, methods and techniques for statistical and quality process. Programs are based on rigorous state-of-the-art research, practice, and case studies in the information quality field. For details, please see Tentative Course Syllabus via the following link: http://mitiq.mit.edu/Documents/June%20syllabus.pdf Participants will: - Develop an understanding of the characteristics of information product. - Learn the processes to develop data element maps. - Apply the principles of managing information as a product - Learn the principles that lead to a continuous improvement cycle for information quality, to develop information quality metrics, and to conduct information quality audit. - Have the skills to implement a successful information quality program. All participants completing the course will receive an MITIQ Certificate of Completion. Participants who submit an IQ project that meets instructor-specified criteria also receive an IQ Project Certification letter. Enrollment is limited. Teams of two participants with complementary responsibilities are strongly encouraged, especially those from technical and functional areas. We also encourage international participants to apply. Preference is given to early applicants.
