Please accept our apologies if you receive unwanted or multiple copies of this message. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Call for Papers Fifth International Workshop on Theory and Applications of Knowledge MAnagement (TAKMA 2004) in conjunction with DEXA 2004 Zaragoza, Spain 30 August - 3 September, 2004 Knowledge within an organisation is one of the most important assets. In industrialised countries, we can observe the shifting to global markets, which change the nature of work and of workforce itself. The most successful enterprises in this new "world" will be those who recognise the importance of knowledge management and investigate time and money in this new and very important field. Knowledge Management is a field which must be investigated by academic researchers together with developers and users from the industry and public administration. Therefore researchers and practitioners are encouraged to submit papers to the TAKMA 2004 workshop addressing aspects of the TAKMA theme. Topics of TAKMA workshops include (but are not limited to) the following aspects: * Extracting Knowledge from Documents * Knowledge Distillation using Intranets/Extranets * Knowledge Integration * Visualisation/Knowledge Media * Support Tools for Developing New Knowledge * KM Methods * Organisational Learning * Building Organisational Memories * Interaction between Workflow and Knowledge Management * Collaborative and Co-operative KM * KM Technology Environments * HCI Processes in Knowledge Management * Usability Evaluation of KM Systems * Case studies and good practices * Measuring the Benefits of KM Important Dates Submission of papers: February 26, 2004 Notification of acceptance: April 7, 2004 Camera-ready copies: May 15, 2004 Submission Details Authors are invited to submit research contributions or practical experience reports in English (not more than 4000 words, accepted are postscript, pdf or word format) via email to Simone C.
