Call for Papers: Data Mining session at INAdP2004: msg#00083db.dbworld
CALL FOR PAPERS Data Mining Session 15th International Conference on Applications of Declarative Programming and Knowledge Management (INAdP 2004) March 4-6, 2004, Berlin, Germany http://cs.bc.edu/~alvarez/INADP2004 Scope Data mining comprises the design and analysis of efficient algorithms for the extraction of patterns from large data sets. This field is very active and is rapidly maturing. Data mining has had an impact on scientific discovery, as well as in various industrial and commercial domains. Examples include bioinformatics, security, and electronic commerce. The Data Mining session in the Knowledge Management track at INAdP 2004 will focus on data mining techniques, tools, and applications that involve a declarative programming or rule-based formalism, for example association rule mining, rule induction machine learning techniques, and inductive logic programming. Selected papers from the session will be considered for inclusion in a post-conference volume in the Springer LNAI series, after undergoing a second round of reviews. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Rule mining techniques association rules inductive logic programming probabilistic rule-based systems rule induction temporal and sequential data Applications bioinformatics and scientific discovery applications in industry descriptions of deployed systems Other performance evaluation visualization of rule-based systems comparison of rule-based and other approaches Important Dates Deadline for Submission: November 23, 2003 Notification of Authors: December 22, 2003 Final Versions of Papers: January 19, 2004 Conference: March 4-6, 2004 Submission Instructions Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract (no longer than 10 pages including figures and references) or a system description (no longer than 3 pages) in postscript/pdf format (11pt) before November 23, 2003. Papers should be submitted in Springer LNCS format. Authors' instructions along with LaTeX and Word macro files are available on the web at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html Submissions must include the title, authors' names, affiliations, and postal and e-mail addresses. Please use the submission form on the INAdP 2004 site at http://inap.dialogengines.com Include a comment indicating your preference for the Data Mining session of the conference. It is planned to publish all accepted papers in a technical report, and to publish selected papers in a post-conference volume in the Springer Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series. Submissions will be refereed by at least two members of the program committee. For more information about the Data Mining session please contact one of the organizers. Organizers Sergio A.
