----------------------------------------------------------- C A L L F O R P A P E R S ACM SAC 2004 Special Track on ORGANIZATIONAL ENGINEERING The 19th ACM Symposium on Applied Computing, 14-17 March 2004, Nicosia, Cyprus http://www.acm.org/conferences/sac/sac2004/ http://ceo.inesc.pt/sac2004/ ----------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT DATES Abstract submission: August 30, 2003 Full paper submission: September 6, 2003 Author notification: October 18, 2003 Camera-ready copy: November 8, 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------- For the past eighteen years, the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing has been a primary gathering forum for applied computer scientists, computer engineers, software engineers, and application developers from around the world. SAC 2004 is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing, and is hosted by the University of Cyprus in Nicosia, Cyprus. Organizational Engineering (OE) aggregates and applies concepts, technology and engineering methods to the organizational context to understand, model, develop and analyze various aspects of changing businesses. This special track intends to bring together the researchers and practitioners in this multi-disciplinary area while addressing the issues emerging from jointly analyzing, developing and evolving business strategy, business processes and information systems Authors are encouraged to share new and interesting theoretical and methodological perspectives and case studies on organizational engineering. ----------------------------------------------------------- TOPICS Specific areas of interest to ACM SAC 2004 OE track include but are not limited to: Modeling -------- * Modeling static and dynamic aspects of strategy, business processes and business entities. * Modeling static and dynamic aspects of enterprise information systems and information systems architecture. * Modeling and applying business practices and business patterns. * Business frameworks and ontologies. * Object-oriented, aspect-based and agent-based approaches. * Notations for organizational modeling (e.g. UML extensions). Methodologies ------------- * Analysis and design processes for organizational engineering. * Software development and evolution based on organizational models. Supporting Tools and Technology ------------------------------- * CASE tools and frameworks for organizational modeling. * Model-driven tools for model deployment and execution. * Web services and related technologies in organizational context. * Simulation and inspection tools. ----------------------------------------------------------- SUBMISSION GUIDELINES All papers should represent original and previously unpublished work that are currently not under review in any conference or journal. The ACM SAC is a refereed conference, thus, each paper will be blindly reviewed by at least three reviewers. Abstracts should be submitted for guidance before the full paper version via email to sac2004-bqZEUaylcM7and0/wzY53w@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx in plain text format. Please provide authors' names and affiliations and the full contact details, including e-mail, address, telephone and fax. Abstract should be received by August 30, 2003. The following submission guidelines must be followed for the full paper: * All papers submissions must be made electronically in PDF format via email to sac2004-bqZEUaylcM5mbKjIMt4/9w@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx * The body of the paper must not exceed 5,000 words. You may refer to the paper format at http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html * A separate cover page should be attached identifying the title of the paper, the authors' names and affiliations, and the full contact details, including e-mail, address, telephone and fax. * To facilitate the blind review process, the authors names must not appear anywhere in the paper, and self-reference must be made in the third person. Only the title should be shown at the first page without the author's information. * Submit a cover page (PDF format) a manuscript (PDF format) as attachments to your email. Your submission email text should also include the authors names and email, paper title, and the preferred contact author. * Full papers must be received by September 6, 2003. Papers that receive high reviews but are not accepted due to space limitation will be invited for the poster session.
