Call for Papers SAC 2004 - 19th ACM Symposium on Applied Computing MULTIMEDIA AND VISUALIZATION TRACK March 14 - 17, 2004 Nicosia, Cyprus SAC 2004 Over the past eighteen years, the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing has become a primary forum for applied computer scientists, computer engineers, and application developers from around the world to interact and present their work. SAC 2004 is primarily sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing (SIGAPP) and other SIGs. For additional information, please check the SAC'04 webpage. Multimedia and Visualization Track This track is devoted to presenting and exploring new advancements in the field of multimedia and visualization systems. Original papers on theoretical studies and appropriate experimental results that have potential impact on these multi-disciplinary fields are solicited. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: Multimedia Areas: Data modeling Compression/coding Digital watermarking Media integration/authoring Multimedia data analysis Content-based query processing Content-based indexing and retrieval High Dimensional Index Structures Video transmission over networks Media Synchronization Operating System support Special-purpose hardware for audio/video coding Multimedia databases Multimedia data mining Digital libraries Distance Education Interactive television Video-On-Demand Systems Video Conferencing Visualization Areas: Visualization of complex information Graphics and animation Human-Computer interaction Modeling and analysis Data aggregation Web data visualization Visualization of multimedia data Visual querying Visual languages Browsing and navigation methods Multi-dimensional information visualization Visualization in medicine Visualization of algorithms Visualization of textual information Visualization and knowledge discovery Virtual reality Author(s) are encouraged to submit electronic copies of their papers (in PostScript or PDF or MS Word format) to Prof. Chaman L. Any self-reference should be in the third person. Each paper must not exceed 4,000 words (approximately 15 pages, double-spaced, 12-point font size). Each copy must have an abstract, a list of key-words and a separate cover page. This cover page must include the title of the paper, full name(s) of the author(s), address(es) (including telephone and fax number(s), and e-mail address(es)) to which correspondence should be sent. At least one of the authors of the accepted papers must register in full for the conference and present the paper.
