Call for Papers *** DEADLINES EXTENDED (SEE BELOW) *** Fifth International Workshop on Web Information and Data Management (WIDM'03) November 7-8, 2003 New Orleans, Louisiana, USA http://www.cais.ntu.edu.sg/widm2003 Sponsored by the ACM SIGIR and ACM SIGMIS WIDM'03 is the fifth in a series of workshops on Web Information and Data Management to be held in conjunction with the Twelfth International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM), (http://www.cikm.org/2003). The objective of the workshop is to bring together researchers, practitioners, and developers to study how the web information can be extracted, stored, analyzed, and processed to provide useful knowledge to the end users for various advanced database and Web applications. TOPICS OF INTEREST Web Mining: Web Usage Mining, Web Classification, Web Clustering, Resource Discovery, Web Personalization, Web Data Extraction, Web Structure Mining. Web Databases: Web Data Models and Meta-data, Web Query Languages, Web Data Storage Systems, Web Indexing, Web Warehousing, Web Data Integration. Semantic Web: Web Annotation, Ontologies, Semantic Web Services. Web Commerce: Web Services, Intelligent Agents on the Web, Web Site Modeling & Design, Advanced XML Tools, Mobile Commerce. Advanced Web Applications: Digital Libraries, Web Portals, Intelligent Web Search Engines, Web Visualization Tools, Web Information Filtering. Performance of Web Applications: Web Caching, Web Monitoring. PAPER SUBMISSION Electronic submission will be used. The postscript or PDF version of the paper should be submitted to the WIDM'03 electronic review system no later than July 5, 2003. The paper should be formatted in the camera ready format and should not be more than 8 pages. The abstract of the papers should be submitted electronically by June 28, 2003 to the review system. For more detailed information about paper submission, please refer to the workshop website. All accepted papers will appear in the Proceedings published by the ACM Press. The best workshop papers will be invited to be revised and submitted to a special journal issue.
