The conference Mobile Europe 2003 will take place on July 3 - 4, 2003 in Bremen. Please see http://www.mobile-europe.org for details. It will have a strong focus on mobile solutions, addressing specific application areas. This is the second iteration in a row of events to be continued throughout Europe in future years. This year?s emphasis is set on opportunities and strategies concerning the introduction of UMTS in Europe as well as future trends and challenges in the rapidly evolving world of mobile solutions. Key Objectives: Mobile Europe 2003 gives an overview of key future trends on mobile solutions including UMTS focuses on mobile applications as well as on future technologies presents "best practice" projects gives an opportunity for partner meetings and workshops before (July 2nd) and after the conference (July 4th) offers a forum for discussions on economic, political as well as strategic aspects of mobile communications and aims to bring together user groups with operators, manufacturers, service providers and developers is of specific interest for service and content providers, user groups from business, health care, public administration and regional development agencies, as well as to developers, telecommunications and infrastructure operators, and researchers Invited experts will cover application, service and technology oriented topics in their presentations. The conference programme is structured along different application areas (e.g. eHealth, eWork, eLogistics, eEntertainment) as well as the usage in different environments (home, business, travel). Presentations are accompanied by demonstrations illustrating the actual status of current "best practice" projects in that area. A panel discussion among leaders of the field on Prospects for Future Mobile Solutions in the areas of eHealth, eWork, eLogistics and eEntertainment will complete the conference programme. Mobile Europe 2003 will present two main streams: Day one will be devoted to invited presentations and demonstrations by distinguished members of academia and industry. The presentations will provide an insight to the latest developments of R&D projects. They will be complemented by keynote presentations which take a visionary look into the future of mobile communication and applications. The most important results will be presented to the delegates in a final panel discussion. As always at Mobile Europe, the support of social networking receives strong attention within the conference and excellent facilities will be provided for establishing and maintaining contacts throughout Mobile Europe 2003. Day two will focus on bringing together users and experts in interactive sessions to discuss specific topics. These sessions will include roadmapping projects, networks, and special interest groups.
