CALL FOR PAPERS Predictive Modeling Techniques Session of The Seventh International Conference on Computer Science and Informatics http://www.ceen.unomaha.edu/peng/csi2003.html Cary, North Carolina, U.S.A. September 26-30, 2003 A predictive model finds a vast range of applications in computer and information systems, including data mining, database, parallel or distributed computing, machine learning, mobile agent, and system tuning. Specific example models include the pattern for detecting insurance frauds or categorizing text documents, the selectivity or cost function of a database procedure for a query optimizer, and the resource usage function for price negotiations between a resource manager and an agent. This invited session aims at sharing research results, practical experiences, and insights among researchers, application developers, and users with a particular emphasis on generating a predictive cost model in or for a computer and information system. Contributions can be made in the form of presenting new techniques, describing the experiences of applying the techniques, or surveying recent successful techniques INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS You are invited to submit a hardcopy or a pdf version of a draft paper, no more than 4 pages in the JCIS format (two-column, 10-point Times Roman), by May 5, 2003 to the Session Chair: Dr. Byung S.
