3rd Annual Family History Technology Workshop
Call for Papers

The workshop spans all areas of computer science research (database systems,
artificial intelligence, image processing, ...) that can collectively help
resolve a single problem -- computer support for family history and genealogy.

SCOPE OF THE CONFERENCE
This conference provides a forum for presenting and discussing current and
emerging research work on technology that support family history and genealogy.
Results should address technology problems whose solutions have the potential
to improve family-history and genealogical research work. The format of the
conference will include a keynote speaker, panel discussions and demonstrations
as well as technical presentations.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
We invite all who enjoy presenting and learning about emerging technological
research, as it applies to genealogy. We especially invite those who do
research and publish in the areas of informatics and computer science.

The workshop focuses on research issues in technology that support family
history and genealogy. We solicit submission of original research, as well as
demos and experience papers that address these themes. Topics of interest

HOW TO SUBMIT

Authors should submit extended abstracts via the workshop's web site, in the
form of PostScript or PDF files (contact Scott Woodfield, the workshop
Webmaster at woodfiel-LBaQsqPCPro3uPMLIKxrzw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx if you need
assistance). Extended abstracts
should range from about seven hundred to one thousand words in length and may
not exceed two thousand words. The workshop's home page
(www.FamilyHistoryTechnology.byu.edu/workshop03) contains further details on
electronic submissions. A proceedings will be provided for all workshop
attendees and published on the workshop's Web site for archival reference.
