* To qualify the content of information objects in order to enable
navigational tools such as indexes, cross-references, citation systems, or
glossaries.
* To link pieces of information together for the purpose of
enabling navigation between them, e.g. for creating thesaurus-like hypertext
interfaces for corporate information and knowledge bases.
* To filter views
of information adapted for specific users and/or purposes, e.g. to define
partial views depending on user profiles and/or knowledge domains.
* To
structure unstructured information objects or to combine unstructured
information bases with structured ones in a way that an arbitrary structure is
imposed without altering its original form.
The workshop WebS aims at
being an international forum for the presentation of both theoretical and
applicative results. Papers describing application experiences are
particularly encouraged. The relevant topics may include the following (but
not limited to):
* Knowledge Management
* Semantic Web
*
Ontologies
* Knowledge Sharing
* Global Knowledge Interchange
* Use
of Semantic Languages and XML/RDF Infrastructures
* Metadata and
Ontologies
* Visual modelling of semantic webs
* Semantic Web for
e-learning and e-sciences
* Semantic Web for e-business and Large-scale
Knowledge Management
* Languges, Tools and Methodologies for Semantic
Annotations of Web Data
