COMPSAC 2003 Call For Papers Sept 30 - Oct 3 2003 http://salmosa.kaist.ac.kr/compsac2003 COMPSAC is the major international forum for researchers, practitioners, managers, and policy makers interested in computer software and applications. It was first held in Chicago in 1977, and since then it has been one of the major forums for researchers, practitioners, and managers in academia, industry, and government to advance the state of art in software technologies and practices. The technical program includes research papers, industrial case studies, workshops, keynote presentations, and panel discussions. The major theme for this conference will be: DESIGN AND ASSESSMENT of TRUSTWORTHY SOFTWARE-BASED SYSTEMS Methodology topics include, but not limited to, the following: - Component-based software development - Object-oriented technology - Process management - Product-line management - Requirements engineering - Metrics and measurement - Professional development - Software certification - Software standards - Software architecture, framework and design patterns - Quality management - Software testing, V&V - Software re-engineering - Risk management - Software reliability - Safety and security - Software licensing - Software engineering education Systems and applications topics include, but not limited to, the following: - Collaborative systems - Distributed systems - Embedded systems - Enterprise systems - High dependable systems - Agile computing - E-Commerce/M-Commerce - Internet and Web-based systems - Middleware systems - Network systems - Multimedia systems - Mobile code and systems - Pervasive/Ubiquitous Computing - High Performance Software INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS OF REGULAR PAPERS Submit original (not published or submitted elsewhere) papers of 3000-5000 words. Include the title of the paper, the name and affiliation of each author, a 150-word abstract, and up to 8 keywords. Include also the name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the author responsible for correspondence of the paper. The authors of a number of accepted regular papers of special merit will be invited to submit an extended version of their papers for consideration for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Systems and Software has been arranged to publish the best accepted regular papers of this conference. INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS OF INDUSTRIAL ABSTRACTS The objective of industrial abstracts is to report on-going work, describe practical experience, introduce new ideas to provoke further validation, or state positions on controversial issues. Authors will have a 10-minute presentation and a 5-minute discussion at the conference. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings. Submit 3-page abstract, including the title, authors' names, affiliations, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses. INFORMATION FOR WORKSHOP ORGANISERS A major feature of COMPSAC 2003 will be half- and full-day participative workshops. These workshops will enable leading-edge issues to be explored in depth. Organizers should submit workshop proposals, including the title, workshop rationale, goals, how participants will be solicited and how position papers will be handled, workshop activities, expected workshop output, plans for publication, organizer's contact information, and past experience of ongoing workshops. INFORMATION FOR PANEL ORGANISERS Panel sessions on important topics will be held in parallel with the paper sessions. Organizers should submit panel proposals, including the title, a 150-word scope statement, proposed chair and panelists, their affiliations, and the organizer's contact details.
