VLDB Journal available on ACM Digital Library: msg#00007db.dbworld
We are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached between the VLDB Endowment, ACM, and Springer-Verlag that will make VLDB Journal more widely available to the community. According to the agreement, starting with Volume 12, Issue 1, ACM will provide the full-text of all issues of the VLDB Journal to all subscribers of the ACM Portal/Digital Library. Eventually, all back issues for which there exist electronic files of the articles will be available in ACM DL. Furthermore, ACM will market and distribute the VLDB Journal to its individual members at the initial subscription rate of $48/year (students $43). The Journal is already made available to SIGMOD members through the SIGMOD Anthology and DiSC. We are certain that this agreement will make the VLDB Journal even more accessible to the community. VLDB Journal is published by Springer-Verlag on behalf of the VLDB Endowment. It is a high impact journal (ranked 5.61%) in CiteseerÕs ÒEstimated Impact of Publication Venues in Computer ScienceÓ report of May 2002) with strict but fast review process (acceptance rate in 2001 was 16% with a first-round decision average of 3-4 months). It publishes four issues annually, two of them being special issues. Some of the special issues published in recent years are multimedia data management (1998), Database support for the Web (2000), Web services (2001), and XML data management (2002). The issues that are planned are semantic Web (2003), and stream data management (2004). For further information about the journal, please visit our Web site: http://www.vldb.org/dblp/db/journals/vldb/index.html. If you wish to subscribe to VLDB Journal, you can do it either through Springer-Verlag or through ACM. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe or unsubscribe yourself from dbworld, send a msg to majordomo-hcNo3dDEHLuVc3sceRu5cw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with one of these lines: subscribe dbworld OR unsubscribe dbworld To find out more options send a msg with the line: help To post messages, go to URL www.cs.wisc.edu/dbworld --------------------------------------------------------------------------
