Search for Duplicate File Feature?: msg#00000db.cdcat
Hi all, I would like ask if it would be possible to add a search option to find exact duplicate files in volumes. Consider a situation where one of the volumes in use is a folder on a disk drive. The duplicate find feature could be used to check if any files in the folder have already been written to any of the cd-roms that have been indexed by CdCat. I think a simple CRC32 comparison would be good enough in finding byte-for-byte file matches. However, this would require CdCat to store the CRC32 of every file it indexes. This should probably be an optional choice for the user. Would this request be hard to implement?
