bind() issue (was: Carob on a Mac)

I spotted a couple of odd uses of bind() in sequoia some time ago
(i.e., "bind(some_guess)" instead of "bind(any)"), this is probably
what you are experiencing.  I am cross-posting to the more appropriate
group. Don't hesitate to file a JIRA entry if can reproduce the issue.
