Re: Trike covers???: msg#00213culture.transportation.humanpowered.trikes
Dependent on how much of the trike you want to cover up. Perhaps I live in a low crime area - well yeh, I do but the only bit of my trike I cover up is the seat and joystick assembly (Windcheetah) on the basis that I ride it happily in the pouring rain and so the mech can get as wet as it likes - as long as the seat is dry for my bum! I use an XL rucksack waterproof cover for that. Stretched out it fits the seat and joystick perfectly and the elasticated edges keep it tightly in place - and discourage any of my students from too close an inspection. Also it fits easily into pannier pockets for cover-ups while out and about, one good shake and most of the water is easily shed. David, I think you could look at a light weight Wave Runner cover, not the heavy canvas one but one that was of lighter material. I think with just a little tayloring and putting it on backwards it might cover the trike up nicely. i was thinking of something similar but have been lucky with either being able to take it inside or having covered parking to put it in. Howdy, I will be getting a new trike and I will have to leave it outside when I'm at work (it doesn't rain often in Dallas, but ...). The occasional sprinkle and because I work at a Health Club it would be nice to cover it to keep little & some big fingers from messing with it. Any ideas - I have used a lawn mower cover for my 'delta' trike but it didn't fit real well and it was ... comber some? Later, David PS. Make it a GREAT Day!
