Today's ride showed 3 trikes, 10-12 other bents and probably an equal
no. of roadie DF's. A LBS in Inverness, Fl is now 1/2 Bent with Sun and
Ran's, and of course there is Hampton's Edge where I got my EZ-1,
Catrike, and the tire today.

It would be terrific to see so many 'bents in a group. AFAIK I'm the
only recumbent owner within a 100 km radius - possibly a 250 km radius.
At 350 kms, we have Melbourne, the home of Greenspeed (and MR and
Trisled.) There are lots of 'bents there, but as a percentage of
upwrongs, very few.

The Great Victoria Bike Ride starts in about 5 weeks (4000 riders - down
from 8000 last year.) It will be interesting to see how many recumbents
are present. The first time I rode, there were a couple of trikes and no
'bent bikes.
The next time we saw a couple of SWBs and several trikes. The time after
that, you could hire a trike or Bike E and there were at least 6 trikes.

Market penetration is very slow, but I predict that Australia will
follow the US and Europe and two wheeled 'bents will gradually overtake
the predominant trike sales - and I mean overtake :)
