Headlamp for trikes: msg#00191culture.transportation.humanpowered.trikes
I recently discovered that the Petzl Zipka headlamp makes a great head-mounted front light for trikes. It fits easily below the headband of my helmets (both road and BMX style) so I don't have to mess with a helmet mount. This thing is teeny-weighs a couple of ounces with batteries. The trick to this unit is a thin retracting cord instead of the typical bulky elastic for the headband. It's bright and easy on batteries (LED). I mount a beefier light on the trike to illuminate the road and use the Zipka to be seen-pointing the light toward drivers. When it's sitting on your forehead the beam is directed down quite a bit, which works out about right on a recumbent.
