Re: helmet Visors: msg#00184culture.transportation.humanpowered.trikes
I purchased the fun foam material that kids cutout and glue together. I made a visor extension that goes about 4-5 Cm beyond the stock useless helmet visor and attached it to the stock visor with hot glue. Works like a charm, weight almost nothing and fully weatherproof. did i mention cheap too? -----Original Message----- From: trikes-bounces@xxxxxxxxx [mailto:trikes-bounces@xxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Morris, Robert Sent: October 11, 2005 4:47 AM To: trikes@xxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [trikes] helmet Visors Here is an alternative visor that I found - a flexible visor that attaches with Velcro. I took it off the kayaking helmet and put on the bike helmet when I realized how ineffective the normal visor is on a bike helmet when sitting in recumbent position. I think the typical bike helmet visor is not much more than decoration - not very useful on a DF bike either. http://www.salamanderpaddlegear.com/prodinfo.asp?number=28BEAK You can easily adjust how far you want the visor to tip down by moving where it attaches to the Velcro at the sides. The carbon fiber visor looks great though -- maybe will try one some day.
