This is exactly why I don't get too irritated about the other users of the path. I get irritated by the selfish or irrisponsible use of such. For example, dog walkers who straddle the path with the leash, parents that don't keep an eye on their kids, people who don't seem to think that the yellow line down the middle of it means anything, other users that don't share the path with oncoming or overtaking traffic, adults on bikes that don't signal before turning off into the path of others without checking, etc... And this has to do with courtesy, both yours for signalling your presence and theirs for acting in a courteous and predictable manner. > The situation of walkers and kids on tricycles and such like on recreational > trails is very much like that of bikes and trikes on city streets. tey have > every right to be there, so should you as a "responsible" rider be unhappy > because someone not of your mindset about travel is using "your" pathway? > Maybe you are not most pleased by walkers but what do you feel about cars > who blast past you on streets too close? Well, part of that courtesy of using the road when I'm in an agressive riding mood has to do with that posted speed limit. > mark > > On 10/7/05, Richard Guy Briggs <rgb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > > On Fri, Oct 07, 2005 at 08:34:50AM -0400, Jules D.
