The horn on the Lark In The Morning website, that is powered by a bicycle pump, and is intimidatingly loud, seems almost definitive for a trike, and it might literally save your life in traffic. However, for pedestrians, I think that we should recall our own reaction when a car pulls up silently behind us, then blasts its horn. It shoots adrenaline through your system, and you are wired for the next few minutes. If if happens very near the end of a ride, you could feel wired for the best part of a half hour. I prefer to yell out "Excuse me" and have not had a single problem. I don't believe that more noise pollution is the answer. Strap a boom-box to your trike, and turn it way up. Eveyone will here you coming, from the bass booming ;O) -Laren Corie- Natural Solar Building Designs, Since 1975 -LittleHouses- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LittleHouses - Living Lightly On The Planet- "Download your pictures for free at ftp://www.ihpva.org/incoming/" trikes mailing list - trikes@xxxxxxxxx http://www.ihpva.org/mailman/listinfo/trikes %(disclaimer)s |
