Bells horns, etc: msg#00099culture.transportation.humanpowered.trikes
Yesterday we were riding on the bike trail on our tandem Greenspeed (wonderful!). However, just yelling "on your left" didn't seem adequate. People move over enough for an upright to get buy, but didn't pay attention to how big we were. I don't seem to have this problem on my single trike, maybe because I can't go near as fast as we can together on the tandem. Anyway I was thinking what I needed was a bell or horn that gave people a sense of our size. An airhorn seems overkill on a bike path, anyone else have an idea. Also our tandem breaks into two pieces for transport (fits in my Element with no problem) but that means releasing the front chain. We haven't found a good way to keep this chain "wrapped up" so it doesn't fall all over and get everything dirty. Before I start trying to make something to keep this in place, I thought I'd see if someone else had figured out a way. Kathy in Cincinnati __________________________________ Yahoo!
