  In reply to your excellent post without comment on all of it:
  I would have to give you that the Templars may indeed have 
venerated, honoured or held in high esteem a head or at least the 
image of a head, I shudder to think that someone would assume, as 
their accusers claimed,that they would "worship" the same.
