If its strange, it must be true: msg#00003culture.templar.rosemont
My Rougemont/Rosamomd family were Orangeman who refused Catholic lands and thus rejected the Protestant Ascendancy which resembles the aims of the Priory de Sion. Like the Priory de Sion and the Knight Templars, the Orange Order was accused of performing Satanic rituals. Several strange people have been getting much attention by promoting a holy and rosy bloodline that has attracted much controversy and provoked strange spiritual and religious history, most of it unproven. However, these people are deemed valid, while I am labeled a crackpot. I will now catalogue some of the real history that has surrounded my family that resembles this strange history. 1. Two God-men from India estabish ashrams in Ojai Calfifornia. Meher Baba claimed he is Jesus incarnate, and the Theosophic Society is claiming Khrishnamurti is the second coming of Jesus. There are numberous photos of anglo-American women in Indian garb taken in Ojai going back to the 30s. Baba claims he is emitting a light and awakening that will affect many from a distance. 2. My kin Conrad Wienke builds his home in Ojai. His sister, Mary Magdalene Rosamond, becomes a follower of Khrishnanmurti. 3. Mary's husband, Royal Rosamond, is a good friend of Dashiel Hammet who wrote 'The Maltese Falcon' that belonged to the Knight Templars. Royal and Dashile used to sail to the Anacapa islands that can be seen from atop Sulpher Mountain were these God-men made their homes in the West. 4. After a near-death experience in 1967, I become a follower of Meher Baba. I would hear Khrishnamurti speak in San Francisco. 5. In 1970 I discover the Pre-Raphaelite artists who employ Grail legends in their work. 6. I share the philosophy of the Pre-Raphaelites with my sister, Christine, it my hope we will become the new Rossetti family. 7. Christine become the highest paid artist in the world, her beautiful women resembling the work of the Pre-Raphalites. 8. Christine marries into a famous Masonic families, the Bentons. 9. Christine Rosamond Benton becomes friends with billionaires, she close to the Getty family, and the Philip Green family. The Gettys own much of the world's art stored in a fabulous museum. 10. Christine announces her impending death seconds before a rougue waves takes her in the ocean. 11. I prove this account is false, and began a fight in a Superior Court to keep the Ascendecy of Outsiders from taking over my family history and selling it to pay off creditors, and enrich themselves. 12. One of the creditors is a friend of the Bentons, and the Getty families righthand man. He is in patnership with Nancy Pelosi and Gavin Newsom whom many conclude lost the Presidential election to Bush and his evangelico crusader army due to lack of "moral and family values". 13. The evangelicos are real religious radicals and nuts. Jon "This elaborate, highly ritualistic, Masonic organisation with all its elaborate degrees, rituals and secrets clearly belongs far outside the bounds of evangelical Protestantism. The organisation becomes a massive barrier to truth for the initiate rather than an appropriate channel to reach him. This type of nonsense is contrary to the traditional mode of service that Protestants have always enjoyed. In no place in Scripture do we see any semblance of instruction for believers to behave in such an unseemly manner. As evangelicals we must therefore oppose such evil encroachments. God's Word says: "What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it" (Deuteronomy 12:32). As we scrutinise the degrading Masonic degrees, rituals and secrets we ultimately find an ancient, alien, pagan edifice manufactured by men of 'another spirit', who designed it to lure the ignorant away from the truth and simplicity of 'the faith' rather than closer to it. The Bible says, "For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ?. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward" (Jude v4&11). Grand Secretary of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland William J. Gwynn said on 4th January 1878 that the Orange Institution was "disgraced by members professing to obey its laws, yet jesuitically and secretly adding these silly devices." He affirmed, "They love darkness rather than light, for did they come to the light they would incur the hazard of criminal prosecution by the law of the land. Such ignoring of the Orange laws is the parallel of Ritualism in our Church, whereby Christ's Gospel is ignored, and blind man's invention substituted." This degrading ceremony, which was, clearly, so offensive to Orangeism in the 1800s is still contaminating the Protestant people today. It is of such an extreme and depraved nature that it must be viewed as not just an attack upon the Reformed Faith but also upon human decency. There is surely no reasonable citizen throughout our land, (whether saved or unsaved) who cannot see the destructive force of such an initiation. This rite, which not only strips a man of his clothes but also of his self-respect, must be rooted out of the midst of the Protestant camp lest it remain an obstacle to the blessing of God in our land. It would certainly take a depraved mind to contend that this degree could in anyway advance the glorious cause of Christ. Occult author Andre Nataf in his book 'The Occult' reveals the real significance of ritual initiation when he states, "To be initiated is to set off on the trail of an occult truth, which not all can perceive. Initiation is a ritually transmitted process" (p. 81). The Masonic Lodge is, in reality, paganism in disguise. Only Satan could devise a ceremony, which could so commonly be shared throughout the world by Protestant Orangemen, Masons and Witches alike. The Bible warns, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world" (1 Peter 5:8-9). It is amazing to see the ease and the extent to which the devil has infiltrated Protestantism today with this shameful structure. It is even more disturbing to see the amount of professing Christians who are drawn into such blatant error. Satan, by subtly labelling the Order 'Protestant' has craftily lured many unsuspecting men into this destructive spiritual bondage. Sadly, many professing believers have been so deluded they are found, today, defending such heathenism, as if it were somehow an integral part of evangelical Protestantism. Founder of the Illuminati organisation and former Jesuit Priest Adam Weishaupt once boasted, "The most wonderful thing of all is that the distinguished Lutheran and Calvinist theologians who belong to our Order [the Illuminati] really believe that they see in it the true and genuine sense of the Christian religion. Oh, mortal man, is there any thing you cannot be made to believe?" ('The Worlds Last Dictator' p. 15). The degrading practices of the Masonic are in such stark contrast to the life and teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ that one can easily discern that the enemy has sown tares. Significantly, no one ever treated the individual with more compassion and respect than the Lord did. Any man involved in this obscene behaviour must therefore follow our Lord's example and the instruction of His Word, and separate from such indecency. The Bible says, "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ" (Colossians 2:6-8). The Protestant Ascendancy is a term officially used in the 1790s, to describe the Anglo-Irish throughout the eighteenth century. The term Protestant Ascendancy refers specifically to Anglican Protestants. However, it does not mean only the landed gentry and aristocracy; descendants of the English Plantation. It's membership is defined as "...a social elite, professional as well as landed, whose descent could be Norman, Old English, Cromwellian or even (in a very few cases) ancient Gaelic." The Ascendancy also had lower levels of middling landowners, lawyers and clergymen. Students of the Anglican Trinity College, were also considered a part of the Ascendancy even though their fathers may be shoemakers or butchers. Movement within the Ascendancy is easily accomplished, as the upper gentry associated with the lower ranks. Essentially, the Protestant Ascendancy was a class consciousness, based on religion, not race or income, and developed its own culture and style of thought, based on being Irish.(6) The Anglo-Irish had been living in Ireland for at least 100 years, and identified themselves with the land, but not the Catholics whose land they were living on.(7) With the help of the penal laws, even the "...lower orders of protestants...had become a kind of plebeian aristocracy," believing they belonged to the Ascendancy.(8) http://io.uwinnipeg.ca/~speters/orange.html http://www.nireland.com/evangelicaltruth/orange.html The Masonic: (1)Is an actual religion, (2)It has its own god, (3) It has its own beliefs and practices. One of the most exciting, albeit totally unexpected, developments in the Fringe community this year is that a sliver of our obscure world has suddenly become... yes, Mainstream! Dragged, kicking and screaming into the limelight, we finally got our fifteen minutes of fame. As a result of the New York Times' bestseller booklist being roundly trounced by Dan Brown's engaging thriller, The Da Vinci Code, I can now even speak to people as normal as my own mother about the Priory of Sion without having to resort to hours of convoluted explanations. In a nutshell, Brown (who, in my humble opinion, should be elevated to the status of a Fringe Minor Deity) has woven an addictive mystery around the existence of a centuries-old Secret Society, said to have been formed to protect the earth shattering secret of a treasure of great importance to mankind. But, does such an all- powerful Secret Society, which counts luminaries including Leonardo da Vinci, Issac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Jean Cocteau among its Grandmasters, really exist, as Dan Brown and others have claimed? Well, I guess it depends on one's definition of "exist". Save Your Money, May 5, 2004 Reviewer: A reader I found the purpose of this book difficult to comprehend - I still have no idea just what it is that Douzet expects readers to come away with. Douzet goes to great lengths to persuade readers that a topographical model, one of a set of two models showing excavations of the site of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, is actually a model of the area near the ruined village of Perillos in France. The trouble is, it bears no physical resemblance whatsoever to the topography around Perillos when compared to IGN maps. Also, the mate to the model, long held in the possession of the late Biblical archaeologist Monsignor Enrico Galbiati, is known to archaeologists, and is unquestionably that of the excavations of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Douzet fails to explain adequately why a matched set of models - before and after views of a well-known excavation site - are in fact two separate places on different continents. In addition, Douzet's account of the history of the Perillos family is sorely lacking in authenticity. A descendant of the family, known to Douzet's publisher, tried working with Douzet to make some sense out of the theories, but gave up in frustration, citing Douzet's inability to comprehend simple historical points and unwilling to part with hypotheses that were at odds with historical records. Douzet is similarly unclear about what "secrets" Perillos holds. He has, at various times, claimed the ghost town as the secret burial place of both Jesus Christ and Joseph of Arimathea, and most recently of the Order of Malta Grand Master Ramon Perellos Roccafull - whose marble sarcophagus, a well-known masterpiece of Baroque sculpture, lies in the Cathedral of the Order in Valetta, Malta. I found this book poorly researched, poorly footnoted, and really difficult to read. I still don't understand the point of it. http://www.philipcoppens.com/burrowscave_img.html http://priory-of-sion.com/posd/rch.html Robin Crookshank Hilton ? Peddling Plantard Today Pierre Plantard has been totally discredited and demystified ? he was a proven lifelong confidence trickster with a criminal record - his most successful period in France lasted for nearly two decades which became terminated by the mid-1980s ? and when Plantard tried to make a comeback in 1989 with a different version of his myth he was completely ignored in France. He has been regarded as a joke of the past in France for a long time. This information alone is completely new to many people. Despite all of this, there are those who idolise Plantard and who really believe that there was something "serious" behind his myth of the "Priory of Sion" ? one of the leading promoters of the Plantard memory today is one Robin Crookshank Hilton, a quasi-pagan bent on researching "esoteric secrets" and who is currently one of the editors of Phenomena magazine, a publication devoted to New Age Mysticism and Pseudo-History. During the 1980s Robin Crookshank Hilton was reportedly a High Priestess Gardinarian witch as well as promoting herself as the incarnation of the Egyptian Goddess Isis ? she later developed a technique for practising "Remote Viewing" where she allegedly communicated with the spirit of dead alchemist Nicolas Flamel ? and much more recently she has convinced herself that the character of `Sophie Neveu' in Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code was based upon her. She has also been active presenting bogus letters alleging that Plantard is still alive (with her routine disclaimers) and she is also active in selling the 1960s Dossiers Secrets version of Plantard's myth on her website. Robin Crookshank Hilton was at one time a supporter of the impostor Michael Lafosse, a Belgian believing himself to be "Prince Michael of Albany" the direct descendant of Bonnie Prince Charlie and legitimate claimant to the Throne of the House of Stuart ? her messages (written under the pseudonym of "Stella Maris") from the now-defunct Entropic Forum (called "Brainstorming Sessions") can be read here. Robin Crookshank Hilton does not operate alone ? her activities include an association with one Timothy Carmain ? a working class American Citizen who promotes himself as a descendant of a Noble French Family ? except that the Carmain family that he pretends to be descended from has been extinct for centuries. Carmain's behaviour does not differ much from Plantard's ? his inability to provide genealogical proof to substantiate his "bloodline" claims does not deter him from continuing to convince others of his fantasy ? a universal feature found amongst all impostors who claim having royal ancestries in their blood. Carmain's attempts to convince others on the Internet have failed abysmally and he simply gets sizzled by the intellectual heavyweights who require proof from him ? Carmain can only operate on Internet "discussion lists" that are moderated by like-minded people that are mystery-buffs looking for "esoteric secrets". Carmain has never visited France and does not understand the French Language. He is, like Plantard before him, someone who seeks justification through being of Noble Descent and shares the same platform as Michael Lafosse and Nicolas De Vere in this respect (Carmain naturally anathematises Plantard, Lafosse and De Vere). Like Crookshank Hilton, Carmain is a quasi-pagan who seriously believes that he has an association with the Gods of Ancient Greece and believes that Christianity is based upon the Greek myth of Iason or Esus. Both Robin Crookshank Hilton and Timothy Carmain claim to be Priory of Sion "critics" ? except that their scepticism does not incorporate Pierre Plantard's anti-semitism, confidence trickery and criminal convictions ? and Carmain even believes in portions of the Priory of Sion myths (eg, the fantasy that the Abbé Pichon manufactured Merovingian genealogies for Napoleon Bonaparte ? despite the lack of evidence and that this was made-up by Plantard in the first place, who could not justify anything about this during his lifetime). Robin Crookshank Hilton is most forthright in her rejection of Plantard's anti-semitism and criminal convictions ? despite the evidence obtained from the Prefectures of Police in Paris and St Julien-en-Genevois about these things. Anyone who does not share her rejections of this evidence is simply labelled a "nutcase" by her. In the recent past, Crookshank Hilton has simply rejected the evidence from the Prefectures of Police as "forgeries". And as recently as 10 February Crookshank Hilton has repeated her nonsensical allegation that "nobody has independently verified Plantard's criminal convictions". Likewise, Carmain has never acknowledged Plantard's anti-semitism and has never accepted the reality of Plantard's criminal convictions (and what Carmain prepares to accept about Plantard's convictions does not in any way correspond with the real facts at all ? Plantard was imprisoned twice ? in 1953 and in 1956). So what does this all add up to? Just that both Carmain and Crookshank Hilton are two mystery buffs holding strong beliefs in "esoteric secrets and hidden mysteries" hoping to become themselves an integral part of the fantasy world which they seriously believe exists ? and just how they see themselves in this respect ? whether they pursue their activities for real or for fun - only they know: but the myth of the Priory of Sion continues to attract a whole manner of various people who for various reasons want to exploit what Plantard began ? and the temptation to form a New Age version of the Plantard myth (called "MemoryMap") ? being sanitised of Plantard's anti-semitism, confidence trickeries and criminal convictions (these facts naturally act as an obstacle) is just too tempting for those with weak powers of common sense reasoning?.. Subject: RE: Dynatic ambitions of House of Stuart? From: Stella Maris Date: 08/12/97 I don't think the element of timing should be overlooked in this discussion. On September 11th, Scotland will be voting in a referendum to decide whether or not it will have its own Parliament with tax-raising powers. If the Scottish people vote 'Yes', by January 1, 2000, Scotland will have its own independent Parliament for the first time since 1707. Whilst this is not exactly independence, it is an extremely interesting step, and is bound to trigger an enormous shift in the national consciousness. The time would therefore appear to be ripe for a well-placed charismatic prince to emerge to claim his 'rightful' throne alongside the newly independent political structure... Subject: RE: Dynatic ambitions of House of Stuart? From: Stella Maris Date: 08/12/97 It's interesting listening to some of the television commentary in the run-up to the Scottish Referendum... all the Scottish commentators refer to Britain's present Queen Elizabeth as Queen Elizabeth II of England and Elizabeth I of Scotland. Sounds like a mouthful, but it definitely makes the point that, hundreds of years later, the Scottish people STILL haven't recognised Mary Stuart's rival, Elizabeth I of England, as their queen. I think Prince Michael may have a pretty good chance... Subject: RE: As above so below - in heavens so earth From: Stella Maris Date: 07/23/97 And the conjunction of the intersecting tetra light cones (the colour of which is resonating as green in the light spectrum) and the intersecting penta light spirals enables energy to be transformed into matter, or, directed thought into reality. The conjunction of the 'male' light hexagram and the 'female' light pentagram (the shape of which somewhat resembles a rose when viewed in full from above) is the Sacred Marriage, giving Birth to Matter, or as I call it, Reality. It is this 'formula' that is 'built' into the 'sacred' sites such as Stonehenge, the cathedrals, etc, even the mandalas. And these structures are 'entrained' to the 'frequency' of the earth and the universe. p.p.s. And when the brainwaves and the heartbeat and the breathing are all entrained to these 'frequencies' this directed alignment enables 'prayers' to be 'answered', in other words, it enables directed thought to manifest into reality... Subject: RE: As above so below - in heavens so earth From: Stella Maris Date: 07/27/97 Quick update on above, information is a bit vague, but it looks like the timing of Sirius rising back into visibility coincided with the rising of the sun on July 10th in Egyptian times, this was taken as the signal for the innundation of the Nile, the rising of the waters. The conjunction of Sirius with the sun now takes place on July 23rd, the day after Mary Magdalene's feast day... And speaking of conjunctions, I solved one little mystery that has been bugging me... When I visited the Observatory in Paris (which was built by Louis XIV under the auspices of Newton, the Helmsman) I noted that the painting on the ceiling of the main meeting room depicted the 'meeting' of Venus and Jupiter in their chariots, which I interpreted as the conjunction of the two planets. At the time I thought it was an alchemical symbol, but yesterday as I was surfing around looking for Sirius, I came across an astronomer's website about the Star of Bethlehem... it seems that on June 17th, 2 BC, there was a spectacular conjunction of Venus and Jupiter in Leo, which could account for the Star of Bethlehem story. So could it be possible that the painting on the ceiling of the Observatory was actually depicting Jesus' true birthday? Subject: RE: Alchemy/Nicola Tesla/Plasma Physics From: Stella Maris Date: 10/08/97 Hmmm... this is extremely difficult to explain in one posting, but I'll try... please don't take this literally because it's hard to explain... It it said that they operate from the coordinates of Arcturus (Arthur is a derivation of this consciousness, well almost, he didn't work out...) Since you don't have much access to information, I've scrabbled through my stuff and found a partial description of The Nine to get you started. If I had the time, I'd dig up more, but I'm rushed at the moment... "We are Nine Principles and Forces, personalities if you will, working in complete mutual implication. We are forces, and the nature of our work is to accentuate the positive, the evolutional, and the teleological aspects of existence. CH is a principle which is the revealing principle of knowledge and law. CH is the principle of timeless knowledge as revealed through the time process. R is the principle of art and rhythm. M is the principle of the human and intimate." This information was channeled in 1952 by Dr DG Vinod, a Hindu scholar, together with Dr Puharich. Normally I don't trust channeled material because it is inevitably coloured by the channel's filters, but references to The Nine have surfaced in so many unexpected and unlikely places (as you yourself have found), that there seems to be some degree of a possibility that this concept exists, at least in the human subconscious... Subject: RE: Safe Haven From: Stella Maris Date: 09/25/97 Hmm... it's funny, I thought of the earth... I also had an odd experience with the earth yesterday, which I had told Cookie about... When I was a very young child, I used to have strange dreams about 'training sessions' and in one of these sessions I was taken up above the surface of the earth and shown a satellite map of the planet and given a lecture about the ocean's currents and how important they were to the well-being of the planet. This was in the late 50s, before satellites were launched, so I didn't know that I had seen a satellite picture until much later... Anyway, yesterday I opened my morning newspaper to a half page colour photograph of the same satellite map I had seen in my trainng session all those years ago. As I read the text underneath, I freaked... because the article was about a satellite study of the ocean currents... and when I read the name of the study, which was named after the satellite, I double-freaked... Because it was called SeaStar... Subject: RE: Safe Haven From: Stella Maris Date: 09/25/97 SeaStar is Dumnorix's nickname for me, it is an Americanisation of Stella Maris, which normally translates to Star of the Sea... p.s. Hildegard's Floor By Robin Crookshank Hilton [click any image to view larger version] I think of my friend Hildegard as my grandmother, probably because I didn't know either of my grandmothers very well. Born in Berlin, she emigrated to Los Angeles after the atrocities of the War, but I met her here in London when she came to visit her daughter, and we soon began to experiment together. Then, during a business trip to Los Angeles with Andy, who is now my ex-husband, Hildegard invited us to visit her at her home. Andy was extremely dubious about some of my friends, especially the experimental ones, so he brought along a book to read in the garden and Hildegard fed him some homemade apfel strudle to pacify him. It was to be a short visit because we had to get back to the hotel for a business dinner so, as soon as Andy was settled, Hildegard and I went into the room where she meditates. But instead of sitting on the sofa, I decided to sit on a particular spot on the floor and Hildegard laughed because I had instinctively chosen the exact place where Peggy, our psychic friend, normally sits during their visits. When we got comfortable Hildegard handed me her magic wand, which was constructed of small rose quartz chips bound together by bronze wire with a large clear quartz crystal attached to one end. The whole contraption looked a bit like a flashlight and I felt extremely foolish holding it, so I made a joke by waving it around and closing my eyes, pretending to be lost in the darkness. Except, when my eyes were closed, I was flying high above a mountain range... and when I opened my eyes, I was sitting on Hildegard's floor. Wow. I tried it again. Eyes closed, mountains. Eyes open, Hildegard's floor. I asked Hildegard if she had ever noticed anything strange about this cosmic flashlight and she replied that no, it didn't seem strange to her at all, but that sometimes Peggy liked to use it. I explained that when I held it and closed my eyes, I found myself flying above a mountain range, so Hildegard suggested that I should perhaps try to land on the mountain and have a look around. Germans are so utterly practical! So I relaxed, closed my eyes, and watched the movie... I hate flying at the best of times, even in my dreams, so I landed as quickly as possible. By now I recognised the mountains as the Himalayas, but other than that I had no idea where I was except that I was halfway up a mountain on a narrow dirt track surrounded by thinning pine trees. Exploring, I wandered up the path, scrambling around boulders. After a short climb, a monk emerged from the trees and, without a word, beckoned me to follow him. Within a few moments we came to a roughly built hut in a small clearing in the woods. Following the monk into the hut, we sat down on some cushions on the floor, with a small, carved wooden table between us. By the side of the table, against the wall, was a low altar adorned with a very ancient, beautifully carved wooden chest, like a reliquary. And as the monk began to prepare tea I watched his movements, gradually becoming aware that he was performing some kind of ritual. When at last the tea was made we sipped it slowly together, scrutinising each other. Then he began to gesture expectantly, as if I should already know what to do next. As he wordlessly motioned towards the altar, I tried to look respectful, not comprehending at all what he was trying to communicate. Finally, after what seemed like an excruciatingly long pause, the monk shrugged and opened the cupboard for me, himself. Inside, on a carved wooden pedestal, was an egg, made of some kind of luminous white stone I didn't recognise. The monk carefully removed the egg and its stand from the chest and placed it gently on the table between us. This egg was the most entrancing object I had ever seen. I gazed at it for a very long time, losing myself in the milky translucence of the stone. I don't remember how I got back to Hildegard's floor. It seemed like I had been gone for hours, but it must have only been ten minutes or so. By this time Andy was already restless and anxious to get back to our hotel. So, as we walked back out to the garden, I told Hildegard about the monk and the egg, and as I spoke I knew I had to find this egg. We tried to guess at its meaning, whether it was symbolic or real, and Hildegard decided that, because the monk I had described sounded Tibetan to her, she should give me a piece of white cloth a friend had given to her, which had been blessed by the Dalai Lama. Months later I found out that the Dalai Lama gives this white cloth to those he has a personal audience with, it is a Tibetan Buddhist way of saying "we will meet again". I became obsessed with this egg. I read books, myths, I became an expert on egg symbolism. But, what did it mean? Life, spiritual rebirth, the Philosopher's Stone of the alchemists? None of the obvious meanings felt right. Two months later, we went to Australia on vacation with Andy's cricket team. As the main objective in life for Andy's cricket team was to play as much cricket as possible, I ended up spending a lot of time on my own. To amuse myself, I searched for the egg, visiting every crystal shop in Sydney, and for some reason I felt like I was getting closer to the egg. I enquired about the egg everywhere I went, describing the stone in case anyone might know what is was. Someone speculated that it could be a special opal, that sometimes they would carve them into eggs, but it would be incredibly expensive even if I could ever find a pure opal of this size. I wasn't sure if the egg really was an opal but, nevertheless, I searched all the opal shops and even the museums and art galleries, but nobody had ever heard of this ancient egg. Finally I gave up, and when we left Australia I felt empty, as if I had forgotten something. We had arranged to stopover in Hong Kong for three days on the way back to London, as we wanted to see Hong Kong before it was given back to China and this would perhaps be our only chance. As soon as we arrived Andy announced that he didn't like the feel of the place and had no desire to see anything in particular, so he would go along with whatever I chose to do. I didn't want to go shopping and I didn't want to see any tourist attractions, but I wanted to see as many Buddhist temples as possible. Normally this would be torture for Andy, but he was in the middle of a particularly good book at that moment, so he was quite happy to navigate me to the temples, an invaluable offer as my sense of direction is appalling, and he would read his book outside in the sunshine while I meditated in the temples. So, we decided to go to the Buddhist monastery on the island of Lantau on the first morning, figuring that because it would take all day to get there on the ferry, spend time, and then return, we would get it out of the way first. Lantau monastery is famous for having the largest statue of the Buddha in the world. The statue was a bit Disneyland-ish, like a Buddhist version of the Statue of Liberty, but the monastery itself had an interesting atmosphere. I spent hours wandering around, meditating in the different temples and at lunchtime we sat at enormous round tables with some other pilgrims and a few monks, eating large quantities of vegetarian monks food. Everyone made us feel welcome. http://www.memorymap.com/duat/hildegard.htm Rosslyn News Rosslyn in Plaster Esoteric London - A plaster replica of Rosslyn Chapel goes on display ________________________________________Dateline: Wednesday, October 27, 2004 By: ROBIN CROOKSHANK HILTON By: Source: Source: V&A Museum London For those who are planning a vacation or business trip to London but won't have the opportunity to venture outside the capital due to time constraints, it might be useful to know that a full-sized replica of part of Rosslyn Chapel is on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Sections of Rosslyn's Lady Chapel, including the world-famous Apprentice Pillar and "coded" stone cubes, as featured in THE DA VINCI CODE, were diligently molded, recast, and reassembled among other world-famous curiosities in the V&A's Cast Courts. The facade of Santiago de Compostela and even copies of the effigies of the knights in the Temple Church have been reproduced by enthusiastic Victorian craftsmen who aspired to create a juxtaposition of the highlights of an eccentric Grand Tour of Europe within the confined space of two overwhelming museum exhibition halls. Rosslyn Chapel experts have commented that the replica of the carvings on display in the V&A, which were cast during the Victorian renovation of this unique chapel, are actually more finely detailed than the original existing carvings in the chapel, which have deteriorated over the intervening years since the plastercasts were made.
