Here is an intersting article that shows the parallels between the 
Celtic and Babylonian religion. Robert Graves concludes Samson the 
Nazarite is Hercules, who is also Melkarth and Ogmios, the Mercury 
of the Gauls who guided the dead into Hades. Consider Mount Hermon. 
Are we looking at the Arcadian stream flowing in the Mideast that 
tied the teaching of Hermes of Arcadia with the Judaic relgion via 
the Philistines? Samson married a Philistine, and David lived 
amongst them for three years in a alliance. If I know David he took 
a Philitistine wife. Did any great teacher come from this bloodline?
