Thanks for the clue, Neal. Here is a great site on Lilith that 
includes the Lamia. It is amazing to realize how restricted our study 
is, it confined by the prevalent prudery. The Victorians were less 
restrained. The Pre-Raphaelites were out of control - hurrah!
