Hi,
There is a new, interdisciplinary graduate program at Clemson called
Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design. You can see the webpage
here:
http://www.clemson.edu/caah/rcid/
The program has a new director and looks to be very promising.
Best,
Thomas

Subject: [cultstud-l] Cry for help -- graduate program advice
All,
This one is a huge cry for help. I greatly appreciate any advice you have.
I am looking for graduate programs that can approach new media studies
from a culture studies perspective. Ideally, said hypothetical
graduate program would take a theoretical perspective toward computer
mediated human/human and human/computer interactions while keeping a
broad enough perspective to look at online communities and other
technology-based movements within culture.
So far, I have struggled to confine my interest to "media studies" or
"culture studies" programs, and "communications" or "journalism"
programs are even providing interesting program descriptions. I am
turning to you for advice regarding which programs might serve my
interests best.
My background -- As an undergrad, I wrote an honors thesis titled
"Masculinity and Cyberculture" which took a cultural/gender psychology
perspective toward online identity creation. The work was well
received and I would love to continue similar stuff without being
confined to psychology. Since graduating, I have worked within the
arts and now create new media for a textbook publishing company.
Many thanks in advance for any advice you have. Feel free to reply
back to me individually, so as to not clutter the list.
Regards,
~g
