In the class I teach "Media, Identity and Post Modern Society" students
have elected as their field trip to visit a number of Boca Raton's
shopping malls.

Obviously they've all been there before, but this time hopefully they
will visit with a new appreciation of the mall as a dedicated cultural
space where , through a combination of visual, spatial, aural and
aromatic media, a certain type of experience and subjectivity is
created.

To prepare them for this journey, I am looking for material for them to
read dealing with shopping malls as a cultural experience . I have material written by cultural geographers, but was wondering if anyone can suggest additional readings.

I really appreciate this list and the way it allows one to draw upon
the collective knowledge and experience of the cutural studies
community. This is a valuable resource.
