Subject: Invitation to John Locke Conference, 12-14 July 2004

Dear Colleague,

We would like to invite you to the conference we are hosting to mark the
300th anniversary of the death of John Locke (1632 - 1704). During this
year, there will be conferences held at Oxford and Yale universities: the
event in Brisbane (12-14 July 2004) will be the Australian contribution to
this important anniversary. The programme covers topics from the broad
spectrum of Locke's works and interests in philosophy, political thought,
psychology, education, religion, medicine and natural philosophy. Visiting
speakers include David Armitage (Columbia), Victor Nuovo (Oxford), and
Knud Haakonssen (Boston).
