height of Temple: msg#00250culture.religion.jewish.avodah
In daf yomi the mishna states that the lights from simcha bet hashoeva lit the whole town. Rashi explains because the temple mount is high and it was lit 50 amot high and the eastern was short. However, anyone who visits Jerusalem sees that the Temple mount is lower than the "upper city = Jewish quarter". According to the standard models this was always true. kol tuv -- Eli Turkel _______________________________________________ Avodah mailing list Avodah@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.aishdas.org/listinfo.cgi/avodah-aishdas.org |
