Subject: 8300HD for SD TV - Copy to VCR on S-Video output? - msg#00095

Hi,

I'm on TW Austin - Sara. Based on the reports here I just swapped my
8300 for a 8300HD for use with my Panasonic SD set.

The only 8300HD output that worked with the Panasonic was the S-Video
output. Based on the "Connecting the Explorer 8300HD" guide, I
expected the S-Video to display the same content as the other main outputs.

So, imagine my surprise when I fired up "Copy to VCR" and the S-Video
output mirrored the VCR output, not the main output. Since my TV only
works with S-Video, this means that I'm unable to watch TV while
copying another program to my DVD recorder. I had to reboot the
8300HD to get control back since I couldn't see the "stop copying to VCR" menu.

I have it configured for SD, 480i, fixed picture format, although
I've tried "passthrough" with the same result.

Does anyone know if this is a feature, bug, or mis-configuration?

Thanks,
Kim

They didn't. I tried to start them up again, it said these 9PM-10PM shows conflicted with Letterman at 10:35. So I deleted Letterman, got these two shows going again, and then rescheduled Letterman at the same time and same channel it was scheduled on before. -W- Time Warner Austin: http://www.timewarneraustin.com Road Runner Status Page: http://help.rr.com/HMSLogic/network_status.aspx Although its employees participate in discussions, this Group is neither sanctioned by nor affiliated with Time Warner.

Re: the news servers - Update

While things are pretty much back to normal, that is also the problem: blocks of hours worth of incompletions and then when things show as complete, they dl'd corrupted. --- In cable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "JasonDHome" <jasond@...> wrote: > > Heard back from Peter, there is a "major hardware failure". That's interesting, because Cox is shipping a Cox branded remote that doesn't have a # button. I've asked them for an AT8400, but I'm still waiting for a response. I always wondered what the # button on my AT8400 was for. You can still access the same function via the Picture Size option on the Quick Settings Menu. Just a little more cumbersome. Regards, David V.
