The SARS farse as per the Ontario Government.

   The fasten seatbelt sign indicated that I had to comply as we were landing 
at Pearson International Airport. I was apprehensive and did not know how to 
face the impending gauntlet of customs and health clearances. The six inch 
sausage, remnant of the kilo I had brought to Paris was in my bag. But I was 
also aware of the scare of SARS. I thought of the previous trip when I was 
made to brush my feet on a carpet to clean the bovine disease that prevailed 
in Europe. 

        Nothing of this occured. No questions were asked about SARS and no 
high tech precautions taken. My temperature was not recorded and no hidden 
equiment I later understood, was installed as in Singapore.

      This Government in Canada is a deceitful one mindful only of its 
economic consequences. The WHO warning was rightly announced and 
unfortunately, it has been lifted.

      Treatment at hospitals in the city has been effected and a battery of 
nurses all in masks are deployed at entrances like the marines guarding the 
wealth of SARS within, just as the Marines are guarding captured Sadaam 
cronies in high security areas. Entrance is denied except in dire 
circumstances.
