As a son of Goa who loves Goa, its culture, its language and its traditional
hospitality, I naturally go on to say "WELL DONE" to the   GOEMKARAMCHO
EKVOT  of Delhi for putting up a Goan show in Goa Sadan, New Delhi.

However, the organisers should have borne in mind that their Guest of Honour
is not a Goan but a Goan traitor who does not love Goa, nor its culture, its
traditions and above all, its LANGUAGE.

Next time you people want to invite Ramakant Khalap for an all Goan
function, wine and dine him,  make sure you float another organization
preferably "GOEMKARAMCHI DUSPOT" and make him the Chief Guest.

Putting Dr. Mashelkar and other prominent sons of the soil together with
Ramakant Khalap is a sacrilege unto GOA & Goans.

Goenkarancho Ekvot, an association of Goans in and around Delhi organised an
Easter Get-together on 26th April at Goa Sadan.  Padma Shri and
Padmavibhushan, Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, Director General CSIR was the Chief
Guest.  Mr. Ramakant Khalap, Former Union Minister for Law, Government of
India was a Guest of Honour.  Padma Shri Dr. Laxman Pai, renowned
International artist from Goa and Mr. Subodh Kerker, Artist were also
present.

> Mr. Ramakant Khalap felicitated Dr. Mashelkar who was celebrating his 60th
birthday.

> The evening was a great success with a very large turnout of Goans and Goa
lovers.  There were Goan traditional dances and songs followed by a Jam
Session with Seby being the crowd puller.  Many like me who were there for
the Goan food which we miss and long for, had a delicious dinner of Xacuti,
Pulao and traditional soupy drink - didn't quite get the name.  I believe it
is meant to be drunk at the end of the meal as it helps in digestion.  I
thought it was 'rasam' and had it first - so you can imagine how anxious I
felt after that.  But all was well!
