SAY NO TO SHIFTING OF THE OIL TANKS TO SANCOALE HILLTOP

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Do you know how much pain and sadness we feel to come to your door 
 with this little piece of paper in our hands?  And yet we are
 forced to come.   Otherwise, we know what disaster awaits you and
 us and our children and the future generation of this small but
 beautiful village of SANCOALE, the homeland of the great and world
 renowned personalities like the Blessed Joseph Vaz, Darmanand
 Kosambe and many others.  Now is the time to act and stop it. 
 Tomorrow will be too late and impossible.  What is this disaster
 waiting to happen, you might say.  It is the oil tanks from Vasco
 da Gama which will be shifted to the Sancoale hilltop once the
 illegal project of the Zuari Indian Oil Tanking Limited under
 construction "if" completed.  Why are the Vasco-ites asking the
 Government to shift the oil tanks if they are not a threat to their
 lives.   What is not good for the people of Vasco, be good for the
 people of Sancoale, Velsao, Chicalim, Cortalim and the sorrounding
 villages?  Think and act now, now, now!

We do not object shifting of the oil tanks from Vasco.  Our 
 objection is to shifting of the oil tanks to Sancoale plateau. 
 They can be taken elsewhere or can be installed at lower Sancoale
 on the banks of the Zuari river.

Why the Zuari Oil Tanking Limited is in such a hurry to shift the
 tanks to Sancoale?  Is it because of their love and concern for the
 people of Vasco?.  Absolute lies.  They are only concerned about
 their own welfare and profit.  Over thirty years ago the Sancoale
 Comunidade leased its land to a company known as Birla Gwalior
 Private Limited at the rate of one paisa per  square metre for
 installation of fertilizer project   which land was far in excess
 of their actual requirement.  They could not use this land and it
 was lying idle for the last thirty years.  The government had
 planned to acquire this land and give it to industries.  Scared to
 death that the free land will be lost, they met  some corrupt
 politicians and hatched a plan to save this free land by
 constructing the oil tanks and leasing them to the oil companies
 located at Vasco da Gama which will earn them a rent of over Rupees
 one crore per year.  Now you know why the Zuari Indian Oil Tanking
 Limited is so anxious and eager to complete the illegal project as
 soon as possible and by hook or by crook.  They are not worried
 about the people of Vasco.  They are not worried about the people
 of Goa for they are a non-Goan company.  They are only worried of
 losing crores of rupees they will earn, if they are not allowed to
 construct the tanks on the free land at Sancoale plateau.  Will you
 allow them to destroy your beautiful GOA?  Over thirty years ago
 they tried to destroy the entire village   The entire Goa saw their
 evil designs and saved the people of Sancoale. Thirty years ago
 Goans joined hands to save their brothers and sisters of Sancoale,
 Velsao and Pale.  Goans, will you abandon your poor brothers and
 sisters and help ZIOTL to realize their dreams that you frustrated
 thirty years ago?

We must stop the shifting of the tanks from Vasco to Sancoale
 Plateau.  But this cannot be done just by talking or criticizing. 
 The time has come to knock at the door of the Courts, the only
 source of justice.   You know it is not easy to find justice if you
 do not have the financial resources.  BUT WE HAVE GREAT FAITH IN
 YOU DEAR SISTERS AND BROTHERS THAT YOU WILL DEFINITELY HELP US.
