Fernando Couto and Alfred..

Fernando Couto - hails from Uccasaim and is employed with the Airport 
Authority in Mumbai, and is the Nephew of Fr. Jaime Couto who presently 
celebrates Sunday Mass in one of our Saligao Chapels (Ex Professor Saligao 
Seminary and Ex Principal of Arpora School.)
He is also the brother of Jude Couto, Proprietor of 'Taste of China' and a 
few other Chinese Restaurants along the Baga-Calangute-Candolim sea belt.

Fernando-Alfred and myself - the Unholy Trinity as we were known to some, 
were close since 1970 or so from school (same class too).  Remained close 
friends after that too though they both continued to live in Mumbai and 
shared a proper flat, myself in the mIddle East.   Their Flat  was a kinda 
transit pad for many even for myself and we had many a fun time there 
including our combined trips down to Goa by ship each time on vacation.

Interestingly we were 'Best Man' in turns for each others weddings with the 
odd but also close one Desmond Crasto joined in.
Fernando and Alfred were like brothers, very closely bonded and during his 
14 on/off transit stay in Mumbai they would regularly meet, sometimes over 
a drink and catch up with much..

Much as we pray for his departed soul and say so many divine things, for me 
simply thinking of him is like torture of the heart and mind.  I still 
cannot believe hes gone ..just like that.
