Dear Friends
Every one seems to be busy with the preparation for Christmas. But somehow there is not much of enthusiasm that used to be there before. People prefer to buy sweets from the market and one will find crowds of people literally huge crowd of people fighting to get the sweets they want and one finds it difficult to even smile at the shopkeeper. This buying of sweets does not really bring the true asthetic value of Christmas. To feel the actual aroma of Christmas one must sweat it out at the fire stiring either dos or dodol and also to taste it while it is on fire. To really taste the aroma of Christmas one must cut bamboos, make a star with it and stick different coloured papers on it and an oil lamp must burn inside it. The midnight mass and the eating of sweets and hot coffee after mass really makes Christmas a grand one. In Mapuca we have the mass outside. With around nearly two and half to three and half people for the mass coming not only from Mapuca but also surrounding villages and after the mass we have the distributing of cake and coffee .
